The symposium will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The National Latina Symposium will open with a ceremonial breakfast, followed by a series of workshops featuring such topics as advancement in the workplace, successful leadership, applying military skills to everyday life and business, and professional development.
The highlight of the event is the Distinguished Military Service Award Luncheon, co-hosted with the Department of Defense. During the luncheon, the Founders Award will be presented to the U.S. Department of Defense‘s Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity and Michael Montelongo, senior vice president of Sodexo and former CIO of the U.S. Air Force for their vision and support in the creation of the program.
